What does 6+ mean?

It’s a size grade. Think of sorting apples at the market—same fruit, different sizes. 6+ means we choose the larger makhana for a satisfyingly full, fluffy bite.

Like picking the bigger apples from the basket.

Where do they come from?

Makhana grows in ponds and wetlands across Mithila, Bihar. Ours come directly from farms in Darbhanga—the place Nikita calls home.

Machines can sort by size. Hand-picking gives a person a chance to spot pieces that don’t meet the chosen standard. We handpick our 6+ selection with care.

What does “wastage” mean?

Some seeds don’t pop fully. They can stay flat or hard instead of turning light and fluffy. Those pieces are sorted out of the packs we send to you.
